أخبرني أبو محمد عبد الله بن محمد بن زياد العدل، قال: سمعت الإمام أبا بكر محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة، يقول: " سألت يونس بن عبد الأعلى الصدفي عن سبب موت عبد الله بن وهب، فقال: كان يقرأ عليه كتاب الأهوال فقرئ عليه خبر فخر مغشيا عليه فحملناه وأدخلناه الدار فلم يزل مريضا حتى توفي رضي الله عنه "
