The Dajjal will live in Iraq for two years, during which his justice will be praised and people will drink to him. One day he will ascend the pulpit and deliver a sermon, then he will turn to them and say to them: What time has it come for you to know your Lord? Someone says to him: Who is our Lord? So he says: I am, and a denier of the people, among the servants of Allah, denies his words, so he seizes him and kills him, and two angels descend upon him from heaven, and one of them says to him, when he says: I am your Lord, he has lied, and his companion says to him: He has told the truth, believing his companion. So whoever Allah intends to guide him, he will be proven, and he knows that the angel only believes his companion, and whoever Allah intends to lead him astray, he is likened to him, so he says: When the angel believes his companion, he only believes the antichrist in order to lead him astray, and then the antichrist goes on. Whoever responded to the command of the sky, it rained on them, and whoever disobeyed him, they became, and all their wealth followed the Dajjal, and the Jews and the Bedouins followed him, and he oppressed the Muslims and made them difficult until they were exhausted, and even the people of the House were in number, and one goat provided them for dinner.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1522 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Iraq.
