حدثنا هشيم، ومحمد بن يزيد، عن العوام بن حوشب، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن جمهان، قال: سمعت سفينة، مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «الخلافة بعدي في أمتي ثلاثون سنة» قال محمد بن يزيد في حديثه: فحسبوا ذلك فكان تمام ولاية علي، فقالوا لسفينة: إنهم يزعمون أن عليا لم يكن خليفة؟ فقال: من يزعم ذلك، أبنو الزرقاء أولى بذلك وأحق؟
The caliphate after me will last for my nation for thirty years. Muhammad bin Yazid said in his hadith: They considered that to be the completion of Ali’s guardianship, so they said to Safina: They claim that Ali was not a caliph? He said: Who claims that? Are the sons of Zarqa more deserving of that and more deserving?
