Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

There will be four tribulations in my nation, the last of which will be afflicted with synonymous tribulations. The first is a calamity that afflicts them until the believer says: This is my destruction, then it will be revealed. The second is until the believer says: This is my destruction, then it will be revealed. The third is whenever it is said: It has passed, it will continue. And the fourth temptation in which you will turn to disbelief, if the nation was with this once, and with this once, without an imam, or a group, then Christ, then the rising of the sun from the west, and without... [Collection & Reference]: Narration #91 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: One morning the sun will rise from the west. When people see it, everyone will believe, but faith that was not there before will no longer help, and the door of repentance closes.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'On the day some of your Lord's signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before.' The Prophet ﷺ explained that this is the rising of the sun from its place of setting.

[Timeline & Context]: The first of the last signs to appear is either the sun rising from the west or the Beast coming out in the forenoon; whichever comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: Allah stretches out His hand by night for the one who sinned by day, and by day for the one who sinned by night, until the sun rises from the west. Repent today.
