Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

Traced to Ka'b al-Ahbar (automatic guess): a report of earlier scriptures, not a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ.

There will be three tribulations like yours departing: a tribulation that will take place in the Sham (Greater Syria), then the eastern one, the destruction of kings, then the western one will follow, and he mentioned the yellow flags. He said: and the western ones are the blind ones.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #97 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Prophet ﷺ warned of trials (fitan) that will come like pieces of a dark night, one after another, so confusing that a man is a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by evening.

[Described Characteristics]: People sell their religion for a small worldly gain. In such trials, the one sitting is better than the one standing, and the one standing better than the one running toward it.

[Timeline & Context]: They began after the Prophet's ﷺ death and continue in waves.

[Prophetic Practice]: 'Hasten to good deeds before trials like pieces of a dark night.' Seek refuge from the trials, the seen and the unseen.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Sham (Greater Syria).
