Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:Two are the types amongst the denizens of Hell, the one possessing whips like the tail of an ox and they flog people with their help. (The second one) the women who would be naked in spite of their being dressed, who are seduced (to wrong paths) and seduce others with their hair high like humps. These women would not get into Paradise and they would not perceive the odour of Paradise, although its frag- rance can be perceived from such and such distance (from great distance)

Scholarly Commentary & Context

Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #2128b in Sahih Muslim.

[Authenticity & Isnad]: Authentic (Sahih) by consensus of the scholars through its inclusion in the Sahihayn.

[Core Subject]: Jannah, Paradise, is the eternal home of the believers: 'what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no heart has imagined'.

[Described Characteristics]: Gardens with rivers of water, milk, honey and pure drink; a hundred levels, the highest al-Firdaws under the Throne. No illness, no ageing, no sorrow, no death. Its greatest joy is seeing Allah, and His saying: 'I am pleased with you and will never be displeased with you after this.'

[Timeline & Context]: After the Bridge, the believers enter it forever. Paradise already exists now.

[Prophetic Practice]: 'When you ask Allah, ask for al-Firdaws.'

[Core Subject]: Jahannam, Hellfire, is the abode of punishment for those who rejected Allah and for whom He decrees it. Believers who enter it for their sins are eventually brought out; the disbelievers remain.

[Described Characteristics]: Our fire is one of seventy parts of its heat. Its fuel is people and stones. It has seven gates. The lightest punishment in it is a man with embers under his feet that make his brain boil.

[Timeline & Context]: People enter it after the judgment. Like Paradise, it already exists now.

[Prophetic Practice]: 'Protect yourselves from the Fire, even with half a date in charity.' And ask: 'Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell.'

[Core Subject]: Among the signs the Prophet ﷺ foretold is the appearance of 'women who are clothed yet naked' (kasiyat 'ariyat), a widespread immodesty in dress in the latter days.

[Described Characteristics]: Abdullah ibn Amr narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said there would come in the last of this Ummah men who ride on saddles like saddles until they come to the doors of their mosques, their women clothed yet naked, on their heads like the lean humps of camels - 'curse them, for they are cursed' (al-Mustadrak 8346, graded sahih on the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim). A parallel in Sahih Muslim 2128 names 'women clothed yet naked, swaying and seducing' among the people of the Fire.

[Timeline & Context]: A moral sign that spreads over time; it has no fixed place in the order and no bearing on dating the Hour.

[Prophetic Practice]: Guard modesty (haya') in yourself and your household with gentleness, and judge no individual by this hadith; it describes a condition of the age, not a charge against a named person.

[Core Subject]: Among the signs is the appearance of people carrying whips like the tails of oxen, with which they beat others unjustly.

[Described Characteristics]: Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Two are the types of the people of the Fire I have not yet seen: people with whips like the tails of oxen, with which they beat the people, and women clothed yet naked...' (Sahih Muslim 2128).

[Timeline & Context]: A moral and social sign that spreads over time; it fixes no date.

[Prophetic Practice]: Never lend your hand to wronging people, and fear the end the hadith warns of for those who beat and humiliate the weak.
