Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

Days will not pass until the Euphrates loses a mountain of gold, and killing increases, until such and such a hundred are killed. If you realize that, do not approach them.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1697 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Euphrates (al-Furat) will uncover a mountain (or treasure) of gold, and people will fight over it.

[Described Characteristics]: Of every hundred who fight over it, ninety-nine are killed, and each one says 'perhaps I will be the one who survives'. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever is present then should not take anything from it.

[Timeline & Context]: The narrations give no fixed place in the sequence. Scholars list it among the signs before the great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: The command is to stay away from it. Greed for wealth is the trial, not the gold.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Euphrates.
