Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

The animal comes out after sunrise, and when it comes out, the animal kills Satan while he is prostrating, and the believers enjoy the earth after that for forty years, not wishing for anything but they give it and find it, so there is no injustice, no injustice, and things have been submitted to the Lord of the worlds willingly or unwillingly, and the believers willingly, and the disbelievers willingly, and the beasts, and the birds unwillingly, so that the beast does not harm an animal or a bird, and the believer is born and does not die until he completes forty years after the appearance of the beast of the earth. Then death returns among them, and they remain in that state as long as Allah wills. Then death accelerates among the believers, so no believer remains. The infidel says: We were terrified of the believers, and not one of them remained, and no repentance is accepted from us, so why should we not be fooled? So they would trot along the roads like animals, and one of them would stand up with his mother, his sister, and his daughter and have sex in the middle of the road. One would get up from her and the other would go down on her, neither denying nor changing. The best of them on that day would be the one who would say: It would be better if you had gotten out of the way. And they would do so until none of the children of the marriage would remain, and all the people of the earth would be the children of incest, and they would remain in that state as long as Allah willed. Then Allah would sterilize the women’s wombs for thirty years, so that no woman would give birth, and there would be no life on earth. A child, and they will all be children of adultery, the worst of people, and upon them the Hour will come

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1857 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Beast (Dabbat al-Ard) is a creature that Allah will bring out of the earth near the end. It speaks to people and marks them as believers or disbelievers.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'We will bring out for them a beast from the earth that will speak to them, that people had no certain faith in Our signs.' Narrations in al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad add that it marks faces, so that people are known as believer or disbeliever in the marketplace; scholars differ on the grading of these details.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes close to the sun rising from the west: whichever of the two comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: This is one of the six before which the Prophet ﷺ urged us to hasten to good deeds.
