Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

My nation has five classes, each class lasting forty years. The first class is me and those with me who are people of certainty and knowledge. The second class is people of righteousness and loyalty. The third class is people of communication and compassion. The fourth class is people of intersection and deliberation. The fifth class is people of joy and joy, chaos and pandemonium. At two hundred and ten, slander, eclipse, and metamorphosis occur. At two hundred and twenty, death occurs among the scholars of the earth, until only one man remains after another. At two hundred and thirty, the sky rains hail like white, and the livestock perish. At two hundred, the Nile and Euphrates are cut off until it is planted on their shores, and at two hundred and fifty the roads are cut off, and lions dominate the sons of Adam, and every people is confined to their city. At two hundred and sixty, the sun is blocked for half an hour, and half of humanity and half of the jinn perish. At two hundred and seventy, no child is born to them and no female becomes pregnant. At two hundred and eighty, women become like dull mules, to the point that a woman is intercourse with forty men without seeing anything of it. And at two hundred and ninety, The year will become like a month, and a month will become like a Friday, and a Friday will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour will be like the burning of a palm tree, until a man leaves his house and does not reach the gate of the city until the sun sets, and in the Three Hundred Days the sun rises from the west, and every heart is imprinted with what is in it, {And of no benefit will a soul whose faith has not previously believed or earned good in its faith} And do not ask about what is behind that.

Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1978 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Euphrates (al-Furat) will uncover a mountain (or treasure) of gold, and people will fight over it.

[Described Characteristics]: Of every hundred who fight over it, ninety-nine are killed, and each one says 'perhaps I will be the one who survives'. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever is present then should not take anything from it.

[Timeline & Context]: The narrations give no fixed place in the sequence. Scholars list it among the signs before the great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: The command is to stay away from it. Greed for wealth is the trial, not the gold.

[Core Subject]: Three great collapses of the earth (khusuf): one in the east, one in the west, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. Whole areas will sink into the ground.

[Described Characteristics]: The narration names them as three of the ten great signs and gives no further detail. A separate sahih narration describes an army that marches to attack the Ka'bah and is swallowed by the earth in a desert plain (al-Bayda').

[Timeline & Context]: They are among the ten great signs, which come close together near the end.

[Prophetic Practice]: When the Prophet ﷺ saw a strong wind or dark cloud, his face changed and he turned to Allah in dua until it passed.

[Core Subject]: One morning the sun will rise from the west. When people see it, everyone will believe, but faith that was not there before will no longer help, and the door of repentance closes.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'On the day some of your Lord's signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before.' The Prophet ﷺ explained that this is the rising of the sun from its place of setting.

[Timeline & Context]: The first of the last signs to appear is either the sun rising from the west or the Beast coming out in the forenoon; whichever comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: Allah stretches out His hand by night for the one who sinned by day, and by day for the one who sinned by night, until the sun rises from the west. Repent today.

[Core Subject]: Al-harj means much killing. The Prophet ﷺ said it will increase before the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: Killing becomes so common that the killer does not know why he killed and the victim does not know why he was killed.

[Timeline & Context]: It spreads among people over time, alongside other signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: In times of fitnah the Prophet ﷺ advised: be like the better of Adam's two sons, the one who is killed rather than the one who kills.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Madinah, Euphrates.
