Let a caliph descend upon Kufa who will defeat the people of the Sham (Greater Syria), then he will seek them and the Sham (Greater Syria), and it will be said to him: You must go to the Sham (Greater Syria), for it is the land of the Holy, the land of the prophets, and the home of the caliphs, and it is there that money was collected, and from there the envoys were dispersed. He would answer them, and if he answered them, the people of the East would rise up against him, and they said: We fought with him, and we risked our blood, our lives, and our money, but he preferred us, so depose him. He said: Then the people of the Sham (Greater Syria) would march to Kufa. So the eternal battle broke out
