Abu Bakrah said:"Allah restrained me with something that I heard from the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w). When Kisra was destroyed, he said: 'Who did they have to succeed him?' They said: 'His daughter.' So the Prophet(s.a.w) said: 'A people will never succeed who give their leadership to a woman.'" He said: "So when 'Aishah arrived - meaning in Al-Basrah - I remembered the saying of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so Allah restrained me by it." Abu Eisa said: This Hadith is [Hasan] Sahih

Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #2262 in Jami' at-Tirmidhi.

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts : Ahmad Muhammad Shakir: Sahih | Al-Albani: Sahih | Zubair Ali Zai: Sahih.

[Core Subject]: In the hardest days, when the Muslims were few and besieged, the Prophet ﷺ foretold that they would conquer Persia, Rome, Yemen, Sham, Iraq, Egypt and Jerusalem.

[Described Characteristics]: While digging the trench around Madinah, he struck a rock and said he had been given the keys of Sham, Persia and Yemen. He told Adi ibn Hatim that a woman would travel alone from al-Hirah to the Ka'bah fearing no one but Allah, and that the treasures of Kisra would be spent in the path of Allah. Adi lived to see both. He told Suraqah he would wear Kisra's bracelets; Umar put them on him.

[Timeline & Context]: They came in the first decades after the Prophet ﷺ: Jerusalem in 15-16 AH, Egypt in 20-21 AH, and Persia by about 31 AH.

[Prophetic Practice]: Hope in Allah's promise even in the narrowest times, as the Companions did at the trench.
