[Collection & Reference]: Narration #2600 in Jami' at-Tirmidhi.

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts : Ahmad Muhammad Shakir: Sahih | Al-Albani: Sahih | Bashar Awad Maarouf: Hasan Sahih | Zubair Ali Zai: Sahih Bukhari.

[Core Subject]: Intercession (shafa'ah) is asking Allah, by His permission, for mercy for others. On the Day of Judgment the Prophet ﷺ will make the Great Intercession for all of humanity, and others will be allowed to intercede after him.

[Described Characteristics]: In the distress of the Gathering, people go to Adam, then Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and Isa, and each says 'Not me, go to someone else'. Then they come to Muhammad ﷺ. He prostrates beneath the Throne and praises Allah with praises taught to him then, until he is told: 'Raise your head, ask and you will be given, intercede and it will be accepted.'

[Timeline & Context]: It comes first at the Gathering, to begin the judgment, and later for believers who entered the Fire, to bring them out.

[Prophetic Practice]: After the adhan, say the dua of the call: whoever says it, his intercession becomes due on the Day of Resurrection.
