Predators and Inanimate Objects Speaking to Humans
Partly
In brief
The Prophet ﷺ swore that the Hour will not come until wild beasts speak to people, and until the tip of a man's whip and the strap of his sandal speak to him, and his own thigh tells him what his family did after he left home.
An early example happened in the Prophet's ﷺ own time, when a wolf spoke to a shepherd near Madinah. Near the end it comes in full, and in the time of Isa (AS) even trees and stones will speak.
Classical scholars take it as a real miracle: Allah, who makes all things speak, can give speech to animals, limbs and objects. Some modern scholars add that people now carry small personal objects that bring them distant voices and news of their families, without limiting the hadith to technology.
Remember that on the Day of Judgment our own tongues, hands, feet, and skins will testify to everything we did (Qur'an 24:24, 41:20-21).
Where it sits in the sequence
The narrations do not put these in order, and many of them overlap. Sahih al-Bukhari 7121 lists several together.

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:"By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! The Hour will not be established until predators speak to people and until the tip of a man's whip and the straps on his sandal speak to him, and his thigh informs him of what occurred with his family after him

What scholars have said
Scholars cite it in part, or differ
Imam Ibn Kathird. 774 AH (701-774 AH)
Points out that a wolf spoke to a shepherd during the Prophet's ﷺ own lifetime (Musnad Ahmad 11792), and affirms that before the Hour predators, the tip of a man's whip, the strap of his sandal, and his own thigh will literally speak to him as foretold in Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2181.

Present-day data
These numbers show the world today beside the narration. They do not decide whether the sign has appeared; that is shown only through named scholars, in the Scholars' views tab.
'The Hour will not come until beasts of prey speak to people, and the tip of a man's whip and the strap of his sandal speak to him, and his thigh tells him what his family did after him' (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2181). Today devices carried on the body speak and report; whether that is meant is a reading, not a finding.

What the commentators said it means
- The classical commentators read it literally, as a wonder Allah will cause: al-Mubarakpuri, Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi.
- Some present-day writers liken the speaking whip and sandal to phones and wearable devices; the classical commentaries do not make this comparison, and it remains their own reading.
Read with care
- The internet figure shows how common talking devices are, not that the narration has been fulfilled.
