Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

When Jesus, son of Mary, descends and kills the Dajjal, enjoy until they come on the night of the rising of the sun from the west, and until they enjoy forty years after the animal has set out, no one will die or get sick, and the man will say to his sheep and animals: Go and graze in such-and-such a place, and come at such-and-such an hour, and the cattle will pass between the two crops, not eating an ear of it, nor breaking a stick with their hoofs, and snakes and scorpions are visible and do not harm anyone, and he does not harm them. Uhud, and the seven is at the gates of the houses, so that they can be filled without harming anyone, and a man takes a saa’ or a mudd of wheat or barley and spreads it on the face of the earth, neither plowing nor plowing, so he enters from one mudd seven hundred mudds.

Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1619 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Core Subject]: Isa (Jesus, AS), son of Maryam, was not killed or crucified; Allah raised him up. Near the end of time he descends again, kills the Dajjal, and rules by the law of Muhammad ﷺ as a just ruler.

[Described Characteristics]: He descends at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two saffron-dyed garments, his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops fall like pearls. He finds the Dajjal at the gate of Lud and kills him. He breaks the cross, kills the pig, abolishes the jizyah, and wealth becomes so plentiful no one accepts it. He lives on earth for a time, marries, then dies and the Muslims pray over him.

[Timeline & Context]: He descends during the Dajjal's forty days, just as the Muslims are getting ready for prayer, and Ya'juj and Ma'juj come out in his time.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever of you meets him, convey my salam to him.

[Core Subject]: One morning the sun will rise from the west. When people see it, everyone will believe, but faith that was not there before will no longer help, and the door of repentance closes.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'On the day some of your Lord's signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before.' The Prophet ﷺ explained that this is the rising of the sun from its place of setting.

[Timeline & Context]: The first of the last signs to appear is either the sun rising from the west or the Beast coming out in the forenoon; whichever comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: Allah stretches out His hand by night for the one who sinned by day, and by day for the one who sinned by night, until the sun rises from the west. Repent today.

[Core Subject]: The Beast (Dabbat al-Ard) is a creature that Allah will bring out of the earth near the end. It speaks to people and marks them as believers or disbelievers.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'We will bring out for them a beast from the earth that will speak to them, that people had no certain faith in Our signs.' Narrations in al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad add that it marks faces, so that people are known as believer or disbeliever in the marketplace; scholars differ on the grading of these details.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes close to the sun rising from the west: whichever of the two comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: This is one of the six before which the Prophet ﷺ urged us to hasten to good deeds.
