Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

I and the Hour were sent like these. He said: And when he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would turn red, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as if he were the warden of an army: Good morning and evening.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1774 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Hour (al-Sa'ah) is the moment this world ends. Everything alive dies, the universe is undone, and then comes the resurrection. The Quran mentions it again and again, and the Prophet ﷺ spoke of the signs that come before it.

[Described Characteristics]: It comes suddenly, while people are busy with their lives: one man is selling cloth, another is fixing his water trough, another is lifting food to his mouth, and none of them finishes. Before it come signs, small ones that spread slowly and ten great ones that come close together.

[Timeline & Context]: Only Allah knows. The Quran says its knowledge is with Him alone, and when Jibril asked the Prophet ﷺ, he answered: the one asked knows no more than the one asking. Any date or countdown contradicts this.

[Prophetic Practice]: A man asked, 'When is the Hour?' The Prophet ﷺ asked back, 'What have you prepared for it?' The real question is our own preparation, not the date.

[Core Subject]: The sending of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the Final Messenger - and his subsequent passing - are counted by scholars as the very first signs of the Hour's approach.

[Described Characteristics]: The Prophet ﷺ joined his index and middle fingers and said, 'I and the Hour have been sent like these two.' In the battle of Tabuk, he told Awf ibn Malik: 'Count six signs before the Hour: my death, then the conquest of Baitul Maqdis...'

[Timeline & Context]: At the very opening of the Islamic era (11 AH / 632 CE for his passing), inaugurating the sequence of early foretold signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: Hold fast to the Prophet's ﷺ Sunnah and remember that console in every calamity is found by remembering the calamity of his passing.
