Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

You will not remain after Gog and Magog but a short time, until the sun rises from the west, and the one who has no creator says: We do not care if Allah returns His light to us from where it rises, from its east or from its west. He said: Then they will hear a call from heaven: O you who have believed, your faith has been accepted from you, and your work has been removed. O you who disbelieved, the doors of repentance have been closed for you, the pens have dried up and the pages have been folded, so no repentance will be accepted from anyone. Faith except those who believed before that. After that, the believer will only be born a believer, and the unbeliever will be born only a disbeliever, and Satan falls down in prostration, calling: My Allah, command me to prostrate to whomever You wish and to whatever you wish. And the devils gather to him and say to him: O our master, to whom shall we fear? He says: I only asked my Lord to watch me until the Day of Resurrection and the day of the known time, and this sun has risen from the west, which is the known time, so there is no work after today, and the devils will become visible on the earth, until the man says: This is my companion who was tempting me, and praise be to Allah who disgraced him and relieved me of him, and people look at the jinn and devils, their eating and drinking, their living and their death, and Satan continues to prostrate and weep until an animal of the earth comes out and kills him.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1843 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are two huge peoples, descendants of Adam, held back behind a barrier of iron and copper that Dhul-Qarnayn built. Near the end the barrier gives way and they pour out across the earth.

[Described Characteristics]: They come down from every height. Their first ranks drink Lake Tiberias dry, and the last say 'there was water here once'. No one can fight them, so Allah tells Isa (AS) to take the believers up Mount Tur. Isa and his companions pray, Allah sends worms into their necks, and they all die in one night. Birds carry the bodies away and a rain washes the earth clean.

[Timeline & Context]: They come out after the Dajjal is killed, in the time of Isa (AS). It is one of the ten great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: When Zaynab asked, 'Will we be destroyed while there are righteous among us?', he said, 'Yes, if filth increases.' Guarding against open evil is our part.

[Core Subject]: One morning the sun will rise from the west. When people see it, everyone will believe, but faith that was not there before will no longer help, and the door of repentance closes.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'On the day some of your Lord's signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before.' The Prophet ﷺ explained that this is the rising of the sun from its place of setting.

[Timeline & Context]: The first of the last signs to appear is either the sun rising from the west or the Beast coming out in the forenoon; whichever comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: Allah stretches out His hand by night for the one who sinned by day, and by day for the one who sinned by night, until the sun rises from the west. Repent today.

[Core Subject]: The Beast (Dabbat al-Ard) is a creature that Allah will bring out of the earth near the end. It speaks to people and marks them as believers or disbelievers.

[Described Characteristics]: The Quran says: 'We will bring out for them a beast from the earth that will speak to them, that people had no certain faith in Our signs.' Narrations in al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad add that it marks faces, so that people are known as believer or disbeliever in the marketplace; scholars differ on the grading of these details.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes close to the sun rising from the west: whichever of the two comes first, the other follows soon after.

[Prophetic Practice]: This is one of the six before which the Prophet ﷺ urged us to hasten to good deeds.
