Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

The first of the verses is the Romans, then the Dajjal, the third is Gog and Magog, the fourth is Jesus son of Mary, the fifth is smoke, and the sixth is the beast.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1853 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Core Subject]: Isa (Jesus, AS), son of Maryam, was not killed or crucified; Allah raised him up. Near the end of time he descends again, kills the Dajjal, and rules by the law of Muhammad ﷺ as a just ruler.

[Described Characteristics]: He descends at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two saffron-dyed garments, his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops fall like pearls. He finds the Dajjal at the gate of Lud and kills him. He breaks the cross, kills the pig, abolishes the jizyah, and wealth becomes so plentiful no one accepts it. He lives on earth for a time, marries, then dies and the Muslims pray over him.

[Timeline & Context]: He descends during the Dajjal's forty days, just as the Muslims are getting ready for prayer, and Ya'juj and Ma'juj come out in his time.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever of you meets him, convey my salam to him.

[Core Subject]: Al-Rum, the Romans, were the Byzantine Empire in the Prophet's time. Many narrations about the end speak of the Muslims' relations with them: a truce, a joint war, then the great battle.

[Described Characteristics]: Amr ibn al-As heard that the Hour will come when the Romans are the most numerous of people, and he listed their good qualities: they are the most forbearing in trial, the quickest to recover after a disaster, the best to the poor, orphans and the weak, and they resist the oppression of kings.

[Timeline & Context]: Their part runs through the whole time before the Dajjal: first the truce, then the war, then the conquest of Constantinople.

[Prophetic Practice]: Amr's words teach fairness: name the good in others even when speaking of conflict.

[Core Subject]: Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are two huge peoples, descendants of Adam, held back behind a barrier of iron and copper that Dhul-Qarnayn built. Near the end the barrier gives way and they pour out across the earth.

[Described Characteristics]: They come down from every height. Their first ranks drink Lake Tiberias dry, and the last say 'there was water here once'. No one can fight them, so Allah tells Isa (AS) to take the believers up Mount Tur. Isa and his companions pray, Allah sends worms into their necks, and they all die in one night. Birds carry the bodies away and a rain washes the earth clean.

[Timeline & Context]: They come out after the Dajjal is killed, in the time of Isa (AS). It is one of the ten great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: When Zaynab asked, 'Will we be destroyed while there are righteous among us?', he said, 'Yes, if filth increases.' Guarding against open evil is our part.
