Synthesized commentary, isnad grading & cross-references

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #2212 in Jami' at-Tirmidhi.

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts : Ahmad Muhammad Shakir: Sahih | Al-Albani: Sahih | Zubair Ali Zai: Daif.

[Core Subject]: Three great collapses of the earth (khusuf): one in the east, one in the west, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. Whole areas will sink into the ground.

[Described Characteristics]: The narration names them as three of the ten great signs and gives no further detail. A separate sahih narration describes an army that marches to attack the Ka'bah and is swallowed by the earth in a desert plain (al-Bayda').

[Timeline & Context]: They are among the ten great signs, which come close together near the end.

[Prophetic Practice]: When the Prophet ﷺ saw a strong wind or dark cloud, his face changed and he turned to Allah in dua until it passed.

[Core Subject]: Among the signs: zina (fornication) becomes widespread and open, and people of the ummah treat as lawful zina, silk, wine and musical instruments.

[Described Characteristics]: Sins once hidden are done openly and without shame. Another narration warns of people who drink wine and call it by another name.

[Timeline & Context]: It spreads over time and has no fixed place in the order of the signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: 'All of my ummah will be forgiven except those who sin openly.' If you fall, keep it hidden and repent.

[Core Subject]: The warning of three punitive portents in this Ummah before the Hour: sinkholes/swallowing by the earth (khasf), disfigurement (maskh), and stones pelted from the sky (qadhf).

[Described Characteristics]: In Jami' at-Tirmidhi (2185, 2212) and Sunan Ibn Majah (4060), the Prophet ﷺ warned: 'In this Ummah there will be swallowing by the earth (khasf), disfigurement (maskh), and pelting from the sky (qadhf).' When asked when that would be, he replied: 'When singing women and musical instruments appear and intoxicants are drunk.'

[Timeline & Context]: Among the minor signs tied to the spread of open sin; distinct from - though prefiguring - the three great landslides (in the East, West, and Arabia) among the ten major signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: Enjoin good, forbid evil, and turn to Allah in repentance whenever natural calamities strike.
