[Collection & Reference]: Narration #9405 in Musnad Ahmad.

[Core Subject]: The Hour (al-Sa'ah) is the moment this world ends. Everything alive dies, the universe is undone, and then comes the resurrection. The Quran mentions it again and again, and the Prophet ﷺ spoke of the signs that come before it.

[Described Characteristics]: It comes suddenly, while people are busy with their lives: one man is selling cloth, another is fixing his water trough, another is lifting food to his mouth, and none of them finishes. Before it come signs, small ones that spread slowly and ten great ones that come close together.

[Timeline & Context]: Only Allah knows. The Quran says its knowledge is with Him alone, and when Jibril asked the Prophet ﷺ, he answered: the one asked knows no more than the one asking. Any date or countdown contradicts this.

[Prophetic Practice]: A man asked, 'When is the Hour?' The Prophet ﷺ asked back, 'What have you prepared for it?' The real question is our own preparation, not the date.

[Core Subject]: A man from the tribe of Qahtan (the southern Arabs of Yemen) will rise and lead people with his stick.

[Described Characteristics]: 'Driving people with his stick' means he will rule them and they will obey him. The narration says nothing more about whether he is good or bad.

[Timeline & Context]: No order is given. Ibn Hajar mentions views that he comes after the Mahdi or in the time after Isa (AS).

[Prophetic Practice]: Leave the identity of foretold figures to the time when they appear.

[Core Subject]: Near the end, a man from Abyssinia called Dhu al-Suwayqatayn ('the one with two thin shins') will tear down the Ka'bah stone by stone.

[Described Characteristics]: He is described as black, with splayed legs, pulling the stones out one by one and taking its treasure. After that, the Ka'bah is not rebuilt.

[Timeline & Context]: Scholars such as Ibn Hajar place it after the death of Isa (AS) and the gentle wind, when no one is left who says 'Allah, Allah', so no believer is there to defend it.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Make much of this House (by Hajj and Umrah) before it is lifted.'
