Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

If Jesus kills the Dajjal and those with him, the people will stay until the dam of Gog and Magog is broken, and they will spread throughout the land and cause corruption. They will not pass by anything except that they will spoil and destroy it, and they will not pass by water, a spring, or a river without draining it, and they will pass by the Tigris and the Euphrates. Whoever of them was below the Tigris or below the Euphrates said: There was once water here. Whoever reaches this hadith should not demolish a fortress, nor a city in the Sham (Greater Syria), nor in the Peninsula. The Muslims from Gog and Magog and Mount Sinai, so the people cry out to their Lord for the destruction of Gog and Magog, but they are not answered. The people of Mount Sinai are the ones at whose hands Allah conquered Constantinople. They call on their Lord, and Allah sends them an animal with forty legs, which enters their ears. They become all dead, and the earth stinks from them, and their stench hurts them more than it did when they were alive. So they seek help from Allah, so Allah sends A dusty Yemeni wind, which causes blindness and heavy smoke upon the people, and a calamity falls upon the believers and they seek help from their Lord, and the people of Mount Sinai pray, and Allah reveals what is wrong with them after three days, and Gog and Magog have been thrown into the sea.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1655 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Core Subject]: The Euphrates (al-Furat) will uncover a mountain (or treasure) of gold, and people will fight over it.

[Described Characteristics]: Of every hundred who fight over it, ninety-nine are killed, and each one says 'perhaps I will be the one who survives'. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever is present then should not take anything from it.

[Timeline & Context]: The narrations give no fixed place in the sequence. Scholars list it among the signs before the great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: The command is to stay away from it. Greed for wealth is the trial, not the gold.

[Core Subject]: Constantinople, today's Istanbul, was the capital of the Romans. The Prophet ﷺ foretold that the Muslims would conquer it.

[Described Characteristics]: In Sahih Muslim, after the great battle the Muslims reach the city and conquer it without weapons: at the first 'La ilaha illallah wallahu akbar' one side of its wall falls, at the second the other side, at the third the way opens. While they are dividing the spoils, a cry goes up that the Dajjal has come among their families.

[Timeline & Context]: The conquest comes right after the great battle and just before the Dajjal.

[Prophetic Practice]: The city falls to dhikr, not weapons. La ilaha illallah wallahu akbar is worth more than we think.

[Core Subject]: Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are two huge peoples, descendants of Adam, held back behind a barrier of iron and copper that Dhul-Qarnayn built. Near the end the barrier gives way and they pour out across the earth.

[Described Characteristics]: They come down from every height. Their first ranks drink Lake Tiberias dry, and the last say 'there was water here once'. No one can fight them, so Allah tells Isa (AS) to take the believers up Mount Tur. Isa and his companions pray, Allah sends worms into their necks, and they all die in one night. Birds carry the bodies away and a rain washes the earth clean.

[Timeline & Context]: They come out after the Dajjal is killed, in the time of Isa (AS). It is one of the ten great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: When Zaynab asked, 'Will we be destroyed while there are righteous among us?', he said, 'Yes, if filth increases.' Guarding against open evil is our part.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Sham (Greater Syria), Constantinople (Istanbul), Euphrates.
