Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

Gog and Magog, the first of them passes by a river like the Tigris, and the last of them passes by and they say: There was once water, and not a man among them dies except leaving behind a thousand or more of his descendants. And after them are three nations, and no one knows their number except Allah: Ta’wil, Taris, and a hermit or asceticism.” Doubt from Shu’bah.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1656 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are two huge peoples, descendants of Adam, held back behind a barrier of iron and copper that Dhul-Qarnayn built. Near the end the barrier gives way and they pour out across the earth.

[Described Characteristics]: They come down from every height. Their first ranks drink Lake Tiberias dry, and the last say 'there was water here once'. No one can fight them, so Allah tells Isa (AS) to take the believers up Mount Tur. Isa and his companions pray, Allah sends worms into their necks, and they all die in one night. Birds carry the bodies away and a rain washes the earth clean.

[Timeline & Context]: They come out after the Dajjal is killed, in the time of Isa (AS). It is one of the ten great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: When Zaynab asked, 'Will we be destroyed while there are righteous among us?', he said, 'Yes, if filth increases.' Guarding against open evil is our part.
