Anas narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and said:" O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour be established?" So the Propher (s.a.w) stood to perform Salat and when he was finished his Salat he said: "Where is the one who asked when the hour will be established?" The man said: "It was I, O Mesenger of Allah!" He said: "What have you prepared for it?" He said: "O Messenger of allah! I have not prepared very much of salat nor fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." So the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said: "A man shall be with whom ever he loves, and you shall be with whomever you love." So after the advent of Islam, I did not see that anything brought the Muslims more happiness than that

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #2385 in Jami' at-Tirmidhi.

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts : Ahmad Muhammad Shakir: Sahih | Al-Albani: Sahih | Bashar Awad Maarouf: Hasan Sahih | Zubair Ali Zai: Sahih.

[Core Subject]: The Hour (al-Sa'ah) is the moment this world ends. Everything alive dies, the universe is undone, and then comes the resurrection. The Quran mentions it again and again, and the Prophet ﷺ spoke of the signs that come before it.

[Described Characteristics]: It comes suddenly, while people are busy with their lives: one man is selling cloth, another is fixing his water trough, another is lifting food to his mouth, and none of them finishes. Before it come signs, small ones that spread slowly and ten great ones that come close together.

[Timeline & Context]: Only Allah knows. The Quran says its knowledge is with Him alone, and when Jibril asked the Prophet ﷺ, he answered: the one asked knows no more than the one asking. Any date or countdown contradicts this.

[Prophetic Practice]: A man asked, 'When is the Hour?' The Prophet ﷺ asked back, 'What have you prepared for it?' The real question is our own preparation, not the date.
