Traced to Ka'b al-Ahbar (automatic guess): a report of earlier scriptures, not a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ.

I found its description in the books, that the Children of Israel fought with it nine times until they were destroyed, and that the Arabs would fight with it the tenth time until they were destroyed, or they would throw stones with which the Children of Israel fought.

There will be a trial, after which there will be another. The first in the afterlife is nothing but the fruit of a whip, followed by sword flies. Then there will be a trial in which all forbidden things are permissible. The nation will unite in its goodness. It will come to him easily while he is sitting in his house.

Shall I not tell you about the temptation of sending? It was said: What is the temptation of sending? He said: If a man were bound by ten fetters among the people of falsehood, he would become the people of truth, and if he were bound by ten fetters among the people of truth, he would become the people of falsehood.

Hold six before the Hour, the first of which is the death of your Prophet, the second is the conquest of Jerusalem, the third is a tribulation that will enter every line of poetry and verse, the fourth is two deaths among people like the shedding of sheep, the fifth is that money will overflow among you until a man is given a hundred dinars and he is displeased with it, and the sixth is a truce that will be between you and the Banu al-Asfar and they will march to you with eighty banners, under each banner twelve thousand.

As for those among you who are companions of Muhammad (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him), no, by Allah, he will not come out until a people wishes him to come out, and he will not come out until his exit is more beloved to some people than drinking cold water on a hot day. And there will be among you, O nation, four temptations: the speckled, the dark, so-and-so, and so-and-so, and the fourth will hand you over to the Dajjal, and two groups will fight over this excrement. I do not care which one I shot with my quiver.

Busr bin Sa'eed said:During the Fitnah(in the time) of 'Uthman bin 'Affan, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas said: "I testify that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said: 'There will be a Fitnah during which the sitting person is better than the standing(person) is better than the walking, and the walking(person) is better than the running."'

Trials are presented to hearts like the width of mats. Al-Fazari said: Mats are the way, “So any heart that denies it, a white mark will be marked on it, and any heart that drinks it, a black mark will be marked on it, until the hearts become into two hearts: a white heart like Safa, not harmed by temptation as long as the heavens and the earth exist, and the other is black dust like a jug, and he said with his hand upside down, not knowing what is good, nor does he deny what is wrong, except what I drink from.” His desires, and beyond that there is a closed door, and that door is a man who is about to be killed or die, a hadith that is not full of fallacies.

If temptation was presented to the hearts, then any heart that denies it the first time will have a white spot on it, and any heart that does not deny it will have a black spot on it. Then it will be a tribulation and it will be presented to the hearts. If the one who denied it the first time denies it, a white spot will be on it, and if the one who did not deny it the first time does not deny it, a black spot will be made on it. Then it will be a temptation and it will be presented to the hearts, and if the one who denied it twice denies it, it will be on him. A white spot, and the description intensified, so no temptation ever harmed him, and if the one who did not deny it the first two times did not deny it, a black spot was placed on him and his whole heart became black and dulled, then he relapsed and did not know what was good, nor did he deny what was wrong.

If a people is accused of temptation, and if there were prophets among them, they would be tempted. His mind is taken away from every person with reason, from every person with an opinion, his opinion, and from every person with understanding, his understanding. So they stay as long as Allah wills, and when Allah appears, He returns to them their minds, their opinion, and their understanding, so they yearn for what they missed, for what they had.
