يكون من أصحابي ، يعني الفتنة التي كانت بينهم، يغفرها الله لهم لسابقتهم إن اقتدى بهم قوم من بعدهم أكبهم الله في نار جهنم

He will be one of my companions. May Allah forgive them for their precedence. If people after them follow their example, Allah will cast them into the fire of hell.

أيتكن التي تنبحها كلاب الحوأب فلما مرت عائشة نبحت الكلاب، فسألت عنه فقيل لها: هذا ماء الحوأب، قالت: ما أظنني إلا راجعة، قيل لها: يا أم المؤمنين، إنما تصلحين بين الناس

Are you the one who is barked at by the dogs of Al-Hawab? When Aisha passed by, the dogs barked, so she asked about it, and she was told: This is the water of Al-Hawab. She said: I do not think I am but returning. It was said to her: O Mother of the Believers, you are only reconciling people.

أيتكن التي تنبحها كلاب ماء كذا وكذا، إياك يا حميراء يعني عائشة

هذا يومئذ على الهدى فقمت إليه فأخذت بعضديه وأقبلت بوجهه على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وحسرت عن رأسه، وكان متقنعا في ثوب ، فقلت: يا رسول الله، هذا؟ قال: هذا ، فإذا هو عثمان بن عفان " وقال خالد: كعب بن مرة، ولم يذكر أبا الأشعث الصنعاني

لم يعهد إلينا عهدا نأخذ به في الإمارة، ولكن شيء رأيناه من قبل أنفسنا، فإن يك صوابا فمن الله، وإن يك خطأ فمن قبل أنفسنا، ثم استخلف أبو بكر فأقام واستقام، ثم استخلف عمر فأقام واستقام، حتى ضرب الدين بجرانه، ثم إن أقواما طلبوا الدنيا، يعفو الله عمن يشاء، ويعذب من يشاء

دخلت على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وعثمان بين يديه يناجيه، فلم أدرك من مقالته شيئا إلا قول عثمان: أظلما وعدوانا، أظلما وعدوانا يا رسول الله؟ فما دريت ما هو حتى قتل عثمان، فعلمت أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إنما عني قتله ، قالت عائشة: وما أحببت أن يصل إلى عثمان شيء إلا وصل إلي مثله، غير أن الله علم أني لم أحب قتله، ولو أحببت قتله لقتلت وذلك لما رمي هودجها من النبل حتى صار مثل القنفذ

وكيف أنتم يوم يكثر لكم من هذا؟ فلم يجبه أحد، فقال رجل من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: والله لوددنا لو أكثر الله لنا منه، وصبر من صبر، وفتن من فتن، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: لعلك تكون فيه شر مفتون

How are you when so much of this happens to you? No one answered him, so a man from the companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him) said: By Allah, we would have liked if Allah had given us more of it, had patience with those who were patient, and been tempted with temptations from those who were tempted. Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him) said: Perhaps you will be evil and tempted by him.
