Read with care: this is one of the oldest books on the end times, but hadith scholars judge most of its reports weak. Many chains are broken and much of it comes from earlier scriptures (Isra'iliyyat). It is here for history and research, not as a basis for belief or practice.

Report #931vol.

Al-Sufyani sends an army to Medina and orders the killing of everyone who was there, from Bani Hashim to the pregnant ones. This is what Al-Hashimi does when he comes out against his companions from the East. He says: What is this whole affliction, and the killing of my companions except before them? So he orders them to be killed, and they are killed until no one of them is known in Medina, and they disperse from it, fleeing to the valleys and mountains, and to Mecca, until their wives. His army puts the sword on them for days, then stops from them, and none of them appear except fear until The Mahdi’s command in Mecca appears. Every guide among them gathered for him in Mecca

If Al-Sufyani was informed of the killing of the pure soul, which is what was prescribed for him, then the majority of Muslims fled from the sanctuary of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the sanctuary of Allah Almighty in Mecca. When he was informed of that, he sent an army to Medina with a man from a Kalb, with them at their command, until when they reached Al-Bayda, they were eclipsed and their leader escaped, and they mentioned that he was from Madhhij, and some of them said: from a Kalb.

No one escapes from them except a good tidings and a warner. As for the good tidings, he comes to the Mahdi in Mecca and his companions and informs them of what happened to them, and the witness of that is in his face with his face turned to his back, and they believe him when they see the turning of his face, and they know that the people have been eclipsed by them, and the second is like that, he has turned his face to his back. If trade and roads are cut off, and strife increases, seven scholarly men from various regions will come out without an appointment, and three hundred and fifteen men will pledge allegiance to each of them, until they meet in Mecca, and the seven will meet and say to each other: What has brought you?
