[Collection & Reference]: Narration #8684 in al-Mustadrak (al-Hakim).

[Isnad Grading & Assessment]: Scholar verdicts : al-Dhahabi (Talkhis): سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص.

[Core Subject]: Yawm al-Qiyamah, the Day of Resurrection, is the Day when all people stand before Allah to be judged. It has many names in the Quran: the Day of Recompense, the Day of Reckoning, the Overwhelming, the Inevitable.

[Described Characteristics]: A nursing mother forgets her baby, a pregnant woman miscarries, and people look drunk though they are not. A person flees from his brother, mother, father, wife and children; each has enough worry of his own. Allah speaks to each person directly with no interpreter between them.

[Timeline & Context]: It begins with the second blow of the Trumpet and moves through its stages: resurrection, gathering, intercession, reckoning and the scales, the Pool and the Bridge, and then Paradise or Hell.

[Prophetic Practice]: 'A person's feet will not move on that Day until he is asked about four things: his life and how he spent it, his knowledge and what he did with it, his wealth, where he earned it and how he spent it, and his body and how he used it.'

[Core Subject]: After the second blow of the Trumpet, Allah raises every human being from the dead, body and soul, to be judged.

[Described Characteristics]: Allah sends down a rain, and people grow from the ground like plants. Every part of the body decays except the tailbone ('ajb al-dhanab), from which a person is created again. People are raised barefoot, naked and uncircumcised, as they were first created.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes after the second blow of the Trumpet, at the start of the Day of Judgment.

[Prophetic Practice]: Each person is raised in the state in which they died. Live as you want to be raised.

[Core Subject]: Al-Hashr is the Gathering: all of creation, from Adam to the last human, brought together on one vast plain to wait for judgment.

[Described Characteristics]: The earth is flat and white like a pure loaf, with no landmark on it. The sun comes within a mile of people and they sweat according to their deeds: some to the ankles, some to the waist, some drowning in it. The day lasts fifty thousand years. Seven kinds of people are shaded in the shade of Allah's Throne.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes right after the resurrection, before the reckoning.

[Prophetic Practice]: Be among the seven in the shade: a just leader, a youth raised in worship, one whose heart is attached to the mosques, two who love for Allah, one who refuses temptation for Allah's sake, one who gives charity in secret, and one who remembers Allah alone and weeps.
