Count, O Auf, six before the Hour. The first of them is my death, so I cried until the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him) made me silence him. Then he said: “Say: One, and the second is the conquest of Jerusalem, say: two, and the third is two deaths that will occur in my nation like the shearing of sheep, say: three, and the fourth is a trial that will occur in my nation. He said: and its greatness, say: four, and the fifth: money will overflow among you until a man is given a hundred dinars and he angers her. Say: Five, and the sixth is a truce between you and the Banu Asfar. Then they will march to you and fight you and the Muslims on that day in a land called Al-Ghouta, in a city called Damascus.

We entered the land of the Romans during the Battle of Al-Tuwanah, and we camped at Marja, so I took hold of the heads of my companions’ animals, so I reached for them, and my companions went off to feed, while I was like that when I heard: May the peace and mercy of Allah be upon you. So I turned around and saw a man wearing white clothes, so I said: May the peace and mercy of Allah be upon you. He said: Who is the nation of Ahmad? I said: Yes. He said: So be patient, for this nation is a compassionate nation. Allah has decreed five trials and five prayers over it. He said: I said: Name them for me. He said: Hold on. One of them is the sudden death of their Prophet, whose name is in the Book of Allah Almighty. Then Uthman was killed, and its name is in the Book of Allah. The Deaf, then the trial of Ibn al-Zubayr, and its name in the Book of Allah is Blind, then the trial of Ibn al-Ash’ath, and its name in the Book of Allah is Petra. By Allah, I wish that no tower would be built without a tower falling, and I say that, but a turmoil descended from the sky, with only a span between us and it falling, and if the construction of this mosque had been completed, it would have occurred. And that was when this Sheikh Othman bin Affan was killed, yes, a hundred thousand or more. Then killing would occur between Aden and Abyan to the paths of the Romans, and an army would emerge from the west, and an army would emerge from the east, and they would meet in a land called Siffin, and there would be a great battle between them, and then they would not separate except About two rulings

I am asking you about something, and be careful not to deny me, lest you destroy me and destroy yourselves. I adjure you by Allah: What do you find me in your books, am I a caliph or a king? Talha and Al-Zubayr said: You are asking us about a matter that we do not know. We do not know what a caliph is, and I am not a king. Umar said: If he says so, you used to enter and sit with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him). Then Salman said: That is because you are fair to the subjects, dividing equally among them, and you have compassion for them as a man has compassion for his family. Muhammad bin Yazid said: And you judge according to the Book of Allah. Ka’b said: I did not think that there was anyone in the council who knew the caliph from the king except me, but Allah. Salman was full of wisdom and knowledge, then Kaab said: I bear witness that you are a caliph and not a king, so Omar said to him: How is that? He said: I find you in the Book of Allah. Omar said: You find me in my name? Ka'b said: No, but with your blessing, I find prophethood, then a caliphate and mercy. Muhammad bin Yazid said: A caliphate on the method of prophecy, then a strong kingship. He said: Hushaym said: Jabriyah and a strong kingship. Omar said: I don't care if that goes beyond my head.

A man emerges from the peninsula and tramples on the people, and sheds blood. Then a man emerges from Khorasan after killing his brother from Banu Hashim, called Abdullah. He remains for about forty years. Then he dies and two men from his household named by the same name differ, so it becomes an epic in Aqraqufa, and they appear close to the caliph. Then it becomes a sign among the Banu al-Asfar, and a star with a tail appears, and it disappears from them and does not return to them.

On the authority of Heraclius, the Great of the Romans, he said: Our example and the example of the Arabs is like a man who had a house and people settled in it, and he said: “Inhabit what you have put right, and be careful not to cause corruption.” So he took you out of it, so they lived in it for a period of time. Then he looked at them and saw that they had spoiled it, so he took them out of it, and he brought others and settled them in it and stipulated for them just as he stipulated for those before them. Then they changed and corrupted, so he looked at them and took them out of it and settled us there for a period of time. Then he looked at us and found that we had changed and corrupted him, so he took us out of it and settled you in it, Arabs. If you reformed, then you are its owners, and if they changed and became corrupted, he removed you from it just as those who came before you were removed from it.
