Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

By the One in whose hand is my soul ، So that it can accommodate the Muslims who come to it just as the womb expands over the child. He said: I said: What is the necklace, O Prophet of Allah? He said: A mountain in the Sham (Greater Syria), from Homs ، On a river called Al-Arnt ، So the descendants of the Muslims will be at the top of the neck ، And the Muslims on the Arnt River ، The polytheists behind the Arnt River are fighting them morning and evening ، When the ruler of Constantinople sees this, he will send six hundred thousand to Qinnasrin on land, until the Yemeni border reaches them, seventy thousand. ، Allah united their hearts with faith ، With them were forty thousand donkeys ، Until they come to Jerusalem ، They fight the Romans and defeat them ، And they drive them out from one army to another ، Until they come to Qansrin and the material of the loyal one comes to them. He said: I said: What is the material of the loyal one, O Messenger of Allah? He said: “They are your freedmen ، They are some of you who come from Persia ، They say: You are fanatical, O Arabs ، We do not side with either team ، Or your word meets ، Nizar fought one day ، And Yemen one day ، And the next day ، They would take the Romans out into the depths ، The Muslims descend on a river called such-and-such ، The polytheists invaded a river called Al-Naqbah ، It is the black river ، They fight them, and Allah Almighty lifts His victory over the two soldiers ، He has patience with them both ، Until a third of Muslims are killed ، Weaver a third ، A third remains ، As for the third who are killed, their martyr is like the martyr of ten of the martyrs of Badr ، One of the martyrs of Badr intercedes for seventy ، The martyr of epics intercedes for seven hundred ، As for the third who flee, they will be separated by three thirds ، A third join the Romans ، They say: If Allah had any need for this religion, He would have helped them ، They are Muslim Arabs: Bahra, Tanukh, Tayy, and Salim ، A third say: The homes of our fathers and grandfathers are better ، We will never get rum ، They passed us to the Bedouins ، They are Bedouins ، And a third say: Everything is according to its name ، And the land of the Sham (Greater Syria) is like its bad name ، They took us to Iraq, Yemen and Hijaz ، Where we do not fear the Romans ، As for the remaining third, they walk towards each other and say: Allah, Allah ، Forget about your nervousness ، Let your words be united and fight your enemy ، You will not be supported as long as you are fanatical ، They all gather and pledge allegiance to fight until they join their brothers who were killed ، If the Romans see who he has turned to ، And who was killed ، They saw the lack of Muslims ، Rumi stood between the two rows with a cross on top ، He calls out: He conquered the cross ، He conquered the cross ، Then a Muslim man stands between the two rows with an item and calls out: Rather, the Ansar Allah have defeated ، Rather, Allah's supporters and allies were victorious ، Then Allah Almighty becomes angry with those who disbelieved because of their saying: The cross defeated ، He says: O Gabriel ، Help my servants ، So Gabriel descends with a hundred thousand angels and says: O Michael ، Help my servants ، Michael descends with two hundred thousand angels ، And he says: O Israfil ، Help my servants ، Israfil descends with three hundred thousand angels ، Allah bestows His victory upon the believers ، And He brings down His punishment upon the unbelievers ، They are killed and defeated ، The Muslims travel through the land of the Romans until they reach Amoria ، And on its wall there are many creatures ، They say: We have not seen anything more than the Romans ، How many have we killed and defeated, and how many of them are in this city and on its wall ، They say: Trust us to pay the tribute to you ، They gain security for themselves and for all the Romans by paying the tribute ، Their limbs come together ، They say: O Arabs, the Dajjal has come to your homes ، The news is false ، Whoever of you is among them should not be taught anything of what he has ، It is your strength over what remains ، They go out and find the news false ، The Romans attacked the remaining Arabs in their country and killed them ، So that there will be no Arab or Arab left in the Roman land ، Not an Arab child was killed ، This will reach the Muslims and they will return in anger to Allah Almighty ، They kill their fighters and take captive the offspring ، And they collect money ، They will not camp on a city or a fortress for more than three days until it is opened to them ، They land on the bay ، It extends the Gulf until it overflows ، Then the people of Constantinople began to say: The Cross extended our sea to us ، Christ is our supporter, and the Gulf becomes dry ، So the hides are struck in it ، The sea recedes from Constantinople ، Muslims surround the city of disbelief on Friday night with praise, glorification, and cheers until the morning ، None of them is sleeping or sitting ، When dawn comes, Muslims say “Allahu Akbar” once ، He falls between the two towers ، Then the Romans say: We were only fighting the Arabs ، Now we fight our Lord, and He has demolished our city and destroyed it for them ، So they stay with their hands ، And they measure gold with shields ، They divide the offspring until a man's share of them reaches three hundred virgins ، They enjoy what they have in their hands, Allah willing ، Then the antichrist will truly come out ، Allah will conquer Constantinople at the hands of people who are friends of Allah ، May Allah remove death, sickness and disease from them ، Until Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), descends upon them. ، They will fight the Dajjal with him

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1252 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Core Subject]: Isa (Jesus, AS), son of Maryam, was not killed or crucified; Allah raised him up. Near the end of time he descends again, kills the Dajjal, and rules by the law of Muhammad ﷺ as a just ruler.

[Described Characteristics]: He descends at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two saffron-dyed garments, his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops fall like pearls. He finds the Dajjal at the gate of Lud and kills him. He breaks the cross, kills the pig, abolishes the jizyah, and wealth becomes so plentiful no one accepts it. He lives on earth for a time, marries, then dies and the Muslims pray over him.

[Timeline & Context]: He descends during the Dajjal's forty days, just as the Muslims are getting ready for prayer, and Ya'juj and Ma'juj come out in his time.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever of you meets him, convey my salam to him.

[Core Subject]: Al-Malhamah al-Kubra is the great battle between the Muslims and the Romans (al-Rum) near the end of time. The narrations describe it as one of the fiercest wars in history.

[Described Characteristics]: The Romans land at al-A'maq or Dabiq in northern Syria. An army from Madinah, the best people on earth in that day, goes out to meet them. A third flees and Allah never accepts their repentance, a third are killed and are the best martyrs, and a third win and are never tried again. Sahih Muslim describes a battle so long that men pledge to fight to the death three days running, and so deadly that a bird flying past the bodies falls dead before reaching their end.

[Timeline & Context]: It comes after a truce with the Romans breaks down, and before the conquest of Constantinople and the Dajjal.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do not wish to meet the enemy; ask Allah for well-being. But if you meet them, be steadfast.'

[Core Subject]: Al-Rum, the Romans, were the Byzantine Empire in the Prophet's time. Many narrations about the end speak of the Muslims' relations with them: a truce, a joint war, then the great battle.

[Described Characteristics]: Amr ibn al-As heard that the Hour will come when the Romans are the most numerous of people, and he listed their good qualities: they are the most forbearing in trial, the quickest to recover after a disaster, the best to the poor, orphans and the weak, and they resist the oppression of kings.

[Timeline & Context]: Their part runs through the whole time before the Dajjal: first the truce, then the war, then the conquest of Constantinople.

[Prophetic Practice]: Amr's words teach fairness: name the good in others even when speaking of conflict.

[Core Subject]: The Prophet ﷺ said the Muslims will make a secure peace with the Romans, and together they will fight a common enemy.

[Described Characteristics]: They win and take spoils, and camp in a green meadow. A man from the Christians raises the cross and says 'The cross has won', a Muslim gets angry and breaks it, and the Romans betray the truce and gather for the great battle. In the hadith of Awf ibn Malik, there will be a truce with the Banu al-Asfar, who then come under eighty banners with twelve thousand men under each.

[Timeline & Context]: This truce opens the time before the Dajjal, and the great battle follows it.

[Prophetic Practice]: Keeping one's word is part of faith. Treaties are kept until the other side breaks them.

[Core Subject]: Constantinople, today's Istanbul, was the capital of the Romans. The Prophet ﷺ foretold that the Muslims would conquer it.

[Described Characteristics]: In Sahih Muslim, after the great battle the Muslims reach the city and conquer it without weapons: at the first 'La ilaha illallah wallahu akbar' one side of its wall falls, at the second the other side, at the third the way opens. While they are dividing the spoils, a cry goes up that the Dajjal has come among their families.

[Timeline & Context]: The conquest comes right after the great battle and just before the Dajjal.

[Prophetic Practice]: The city falls to dhikr, not weapons. La ilaha illallah wallahu akbar is worth more than we think.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Madinah, Baitul Maqdis (Jerusalem), Damascus, Sham (Greater Syria), Iraq, Yemen, Homs, Qinnasrin, Constantinople (Istanbul).
