Kitab al-Fitan of Nu'aym ibn Hammad: ungraded, and weak overall. Never established on its own.

O people, you will split into three groups after his emergence: a group that follows him, a group that joins the land of its fathers with the springs of wormwood, and a group that takes the shore of the Euphrates, fighting them and they fighting him, until the believers gather in the west of the Sham (Greater Syria), and they send to him a vanguard of them, a horseman riding a blond or pale horse, and they are killed, and no human among them returns. Salamah said: Then Abu Sadiq told me, on the authority of Rabi’ah bin Najiz, that Abdullah bin Masoud said: A blond horse, then Abdullah said: The People of the Book claim that the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), will descend and kill him. Abu al-Za’ra’ said: I have not heard Abdullah mention a hadith from the People of the Book other than this. He said: Then Gog and Magog will emerge.

[Collection & Reference]: Narration #1515 in Kitab al-Fitan (Nu'aym ibn Hammad).

[Scholarly Verification Notice]: Recorded in Nu'aym ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan (d. 228 AH). Hadith scholars classify this historical compilation as ungraded and weak overall; its isolated reports are not accepted as established doctrine unless corroborated by standard Sahih works.

[Core Subject]: The Dajjal (al-Masih al-Dajjal, the false messiah) is a single man who will appear near the end and claim to be God. Every prophet warned his people about him, and the Prophet ﷺ called his trial the greatest from the creation of Adam until the Hour.

[Described Characteristics]: He is a young man, stocky, with thick curly hair, blind in his right eye, which looks like a floating grape. Between his eyes is written ka-fa-ra (kafir), which every believer can read, literate or not. He brings what looks like paradise and hell, but his paradise is fire and his fire is cool water. He orders the sky to rain and it rains. He stays forty days: one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like ordinary days. He cannot enter Makkah or Madinah.

[Timeline & Context]: In the narrated order he is the first of the great signs. He comes after the great battle with the Romans and the conquest of Constantinople, and Isa (AS) kills him at the gate of Lud.

[Prophetic Practice]: Memorise the first ten verses of Surah al-Kahf, read al-Kahf on Fridays, and in every prayer before the salam ask Allah's refuge from the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever hears of him should keep away from him.

[Core Subject]: Isa (Jesus, AS), son of Maryam, was not killed or crucified; Allah raised him up. Near the end of time he descends again, kills the Dajjal, and rules by the law of Muhammad ﷺ as a just ruler.

[Described Characteristics]: He descends at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two saffron-dyed garments, his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops fall like pearls. He finds the Dajjal at the gate of Lud and kills him. He breaks the cross, kills the pig, abolishes the jizyah, and wealth becomes so plentiful no one accepts it. He lives on earth for a time, marries, then dies and the Muslims pray over him.

[Timeline & Context]: He descends during the Dajjal's forty days, just as the Muslims are getting ready for prayer, and Ya'juj and Ma'juj come out in his time.

[Prophetic Practice]: The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever of you meets him, convey my salam to him.

[Core Subject]: The Euphrates (al-Furat) will uncover a mountain (or treasure) of gold, and people will fight over it.

[Described Characteristics]: Of every hundred who fight over it, ninety-nine are killed, and each one says 'perhaps I will be the one who survives'. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever is present then should not take anything from it.

[Timeline & Context]: The narrations give no fixed place in the sequence. Scholars list it among the signs before the great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: The command is to stay away from it. Greed for wealth is the trial, not the gold.

[Core Subject]: Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog) are two huge peoples, descendants of Adam, held back behind a barrier of iron and copper that Dhul-Qarnayn built. Near the end the barrier gives way and they pour out across the earth.

[Described Characteristics]: They come down from every height. Their first ranks drink Lake Tiberias dry, and the last say 'there was water here once'. No one can fight them, so Allah tells Isa (AS) to take the believers up Mount Tur. Isa and his companions pray, Allah sends worms into their necks, and they all die in one night. Birds carry the bodies away and a rain washes the earth clean.

[Timeline & Context]: They come out after the Dajjal is killed, in the time of Isa (AS). It is one of the ten great signs.

[Prophetic Practice]: When Zaynab asked, 'Will we be destroyed while there are righteous among us?', he said, 'Yes, if filth increases.' Guarding against open evil is our part.

[Geographical Locations]: Mentioned in narration : Sham (Greater Syria), Euphrates.
