أمير العصب ليس من ذي ولا ذو، ولكنهم يسمعون صوتا ما قاله إنس ولا جان: بايعوا فلانا باسمه، ليس من ذي ولا ذو ولكنه خليفة يماني قال الوليد: وفي علم كعب أنه يماني قرشي، وهو أمير العصب، والعصب أهل اليمن ومن تبعهم من سائر الذين أخرجوا من بيت المقدس

The prince of the tribe is neither from a tribe nor a family, but they hear a voice that neither man nor jinn said: They pledged allegiance to so-and-so in his name. لحمير التجار

For the donkeys of merchants

يكون رجل من ولدي بوجهه شين يلي، فيملأها عدلا قال نافع: ولا أحسبنه إلا عمر بن عبد العزيز

There will be a man from my descendants with a fair face, and he will fill it with justice. Nafi’ said: I do not think he is anyone but Omar bin Abdul Aziz.

رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في النوم وعنده أبو بكر وعمر وعثمان وعلي رضي الله عنهم، فقال لي: ادنه، فدنوت حتى قمت بين يديه، فرفع إلي بصره فقال: أما إنك ستلي هذه الأمة وستعدل عليهم

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in sleep, and with him were Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said to me: Come closer to him, so I approached until I stood in front of him, and he looked up at me and said: As for you, you will follow this nation and you will treat them justly.

لقيني يهودي فأعلمني أن عمر بن عبد العزيز سيلي هذا الأمر وسيعدل فيه، ثم لقيني بعد فقال لي: إن صاحبك قد سقي، فمره فليتدارك نفسه، فلقيته فذكرته له، فقال لي: قاتله الله ما أعلمه، لقد علمت الساعة التي سقيت فيها، ولو كان شفائي أن أمس شحمة أذني ما فعلت أو أوتى بطيب فأرفعه إلى أنفي فأشمه، ما فعلت

A Jew met me and informed me that Omar bin Abdul Aziz would take care of this matter and would rectify it. Then he met me after that and said to me: Your friend has been given water, so tell him to take care of himself. So I met him and mentioned it to him, and he said to me: May Allah kill him, I do not know. I know the time in which I was given water, and if my recovery had been that he touched my earlobe, I would not have done it, or he was brought perfume so that I could raise it to my nose and smell it, I would not have done it.

كيف تجدوني؟ قال: نجدك قرنا من حديد، قال: وما قرن من حديد؟ قال: قوي شديد، قال عمر: الحمد لله ، قال: ويحك، ثم مه؟ قال: ثم رجل من بعدك ليس به بأس على أنه يؤثر أقرباءه، فقال عمر: رحم الله عثمان، رحم الله عثمان ، قال: ويحك ثم مه؟ قال: ثم صدع في حجر، قال: وما صدع في حجر؟ قال: سيف مسلول، ودم مسفوك، قال: فكبر ذلك على عمر فقال: تبا لك سائر اليوم ، فقال الأسقف: يا أمير المؤمنين، فإنها ستكون بعد ذلك جماعة، قال: فقال لي عمر: قم فأذن فلا أدري هل سأله بعد ذلك شيئا أم لا

How do you find me? He said: We find that you have a horn of iron. He said: What is a horn of iron? He said: Strong and intense. Omar said: Praise be to Allah. He said: Woe to you, then what? He said: Then there is a man after you who has no objection to preferring his relatives. Omar said: May Allah have mercy on Othman, may Allah have mercy on Othman. He said: Woe to you, then what? He said: Then there was a crack in a stone. He said: What is a crack in a stone? He said: A drawn sword and spilled blood. He said: This became too great for Omar, so he said: May you be cursed for the rest of the day. Then the bishop said: O Commander of the Faithful, after that there will be a group. He said: Then Omar said to me: Get up and give permission. I do not know whether he asked him anything after that or not.

لم يبعث الله تعالى نبوة، ولا جعل خلافة ولا ملكا إلا في أهل القرى والحضارة، كانوا لا يطمعون أن يجعلها في أهل عمود ولا بدو

Allah Almighty did not send a prophecy, nor did He place a caliphate or a kingdom except among the people of villages and civilization. They did not aspire to place it among the people of Amoud or the Bedouins.
