يكون من قريش أربعة زنادقة ، قال أبوه: فسمعت سعيد بن خالد يذكر عن ابن أبي زكريا نحو ذلك، ثم قال: هو مروان بن محمد بن مروان بن الحكم، والوليد بن يزيد بن عبد الملك بن مروان بن الحكم، ويزيد بن خالد بن يزيد بن معاوية بن أبي سفيان، وسعيد بن خالد الذي كان بخراسان

There will be four heretics from the Quraysh. His father said: I heard Saeed bin Khalid mentioning something similar on the authority of Ibn Abi Zakaria. Then he said: He is Marwan bin Muhammad bin Marwan bin Al-Hakam, Al-Walid bin Yazid bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan bin Al-Hakam, Yazid bin Khalid bin Yazid bin Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, and Saeed bin Khalid, who was in Khorasan.

سميتموه بأسماء فراعنتكم، ليكونن في هذه الأمة رجل يقال له الوليد هو شر على هذه الأمة من فرعون على قومه قال الزهري: إن استخلف الوليد بن يزيد فهو هو، وإلا فالوليد بن عبد الملك

You named him after the names of your pharaohs, so that there will be in this nation a man called Al-Walid. He is more evil to this nation than Pharaoh was to his people. Al-Zuhri said: If Al-Walid bin Yazid is appointed as successor, then it is him, otherwise Al-Walid bin Abdul Malik.

يكون في ثقيف كذاب ومبير ، فأما الكذاب فقد عرفناه، وأما المبير فأنت، قال: نعم أنا مبير المنافقين

There will be a liar and a liar in Thaqif. As for the liar, we know him, and as for the liar, you are. He said: Yes, I am the liar of the hypocrites.

يخرج من ثقيف ثلاثة: الكذاب والذيال، والمبير، فأما الكذاب فقد مضى، وأما المبير فأنت المبير، وقالت: وأما الذيال فما رأيناه بعد، قال: فمر ابن عمر رضي الله عنه بابن الزبير مصلوبا فقال: قد أفلحت أمة أنت شرها

Three people will emerge from Thaqif: Al-Kadhab, Al-Dhayal, and Al-Mubir. As for Al-Kadhab, he has passed away, and as for Al-Mubair, you are Al-Mubair. She said: As for Al-Dhayl, we have not seen him yet. He said: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Ibn Al-Zubayr crucified and said: A nation whose worst is you has succeeded.

يكون رجل من ولدي بوجهه شين يلي فيملأها عدلا ، قال نافع: ولا أحسبه إلا عمر بن عبد العزيز

There will be a man from my descendants with a fair face and he will fill it with justice. Nafi’ said: I do not think he is anyone but Omar bin Abdul Aziz.

لعلك تكون أشج بني أمية

Perhaps you are the bravest of the Umayyads

ليكونن بعد عثمان رضي الله عنه اثنا عشر ملكا من بني أمية ، قيل له: أخلفاء؟ قال: بل ملوك

After Othman, (may Allah be pleased with him), there will be twelve kings from the Umayyads, or even kings

أشير عليكم أن تلزموا بيوتكم، فإن هذا الأمر سيصير إلى رجل من بني أمية يليكم ثنتين وعشرين سنة، ثم يموت ثم يليكم من بعده خلفاء يتتابعون في سنيات يسيرة، حتى يليكم رجل علامته في عينه، يعني هشام بن عبد الملك، يجمع المال جمعا لم يجمعه أحد قبله، يعيش تسع عشرة سنة وشيئا، ثم يموت، ثم يليكم رجل منهم شاب يعطي الناس عطايا لم يعطها أحد كان قبله، ثم ينشب به رجل من أهل بيته خفي لم يكن يذكر فيقتله فتراق على يديه الدماء، ثم يأتيكم مدبر من هاهنا، وأشار إلى الجزيرة

I advise you to stay in your homes, for this matter will happen to a man from the Umayyads who will follow you for twenty-two years, then he will die, and then after him will be followed by caliphs who will succeed each other for a few years, until a man with his mark in his eye will follow you, meaning Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, who collects money in a way that no one had collected before him, who lives for nineteen years and something, then dies, then a man among them will follow you, a young man who will give people gifts that no one before him had given him, then a man from his household will attack him. It was hidden and he was not mentioned, so he kills him and blood spills on his hands, then he comes to you heading from here, and he pointed to the island.

إنه مقتول إلى شهرين، فوثب مروان مغضبا ليدخل على عثمان، فلم يزالوا به حتى كف عنه "، فقال عبد الله بن قيس للزهري: إن هذا العلم مخزون عن الناس، فهل عندك منه علم تحدثنا به؟ وذلك في إمارة هشام، فقال له الزهري: أتحب الاستراحة من هشام؟ فكان قد كان ذاك وهو هالك إلى عامين أو نحوهما ، قيل له: موت أو قتل؟ قال: بل موت ، قيل له: فمن بعده؟ قال: هذا الغلام من أهل بيته ، قيل له: فما مدته؟ قال: كنوم الصبي ، قيل: يموت موتا أو يقتل؟ قال: بل يقتل ، قيل: فمن بعده؟ قال: الذي يأتي من هاهنا ، وأشار إلى الجزيرة، وسليمان بن هشام يومئذ أمير الجزيرة، قيل له: ما هو؟ قال: اسمه واسم أبيه ثمانية أحرف ، قيل: وما مدته؟ قال: كالثوب البالي إذا رقع من مكان تهتك من مكان

It was said: Who is after him? He said: He pointed to the island, and Sulaiman bin Hisham at that time. He was asked: What is he? He said: His name and his father’s name are eight letters. It was said: And how long is it? He said: Like a worn-out garment that is torn from place

ما حدثني كعب في سلطاني بشيء إلا وجدته كما قال، إلا هذا فإنه حدثني أنه يقتلني رجل من ثقيف، فأراني أنا الذي قتلته

Ka'b did not tell me anything in my authority except that I found it as he said, except for this, for he told me that a man from Thaqif would kill me, so he showed me that I was the one who killed him.

فتنة ابن الزبير حيصة من حيصات الفتن

The temptation of Ibn al-Zubayr is one of the worst temptations

تتهادون بالرءوس ولا تدرون إلى ما صارت إليه الأرواح

You wander with your heads and do not know what the souls have become

أنا لأن يخطئهم أخوف مني من أن يصيبهم

I am more afraid that they will miss me than that they will be harmed

اللهم لا ترجعها ، ثم قال: يوشك أن يأتي على الناس زمان يكون الموت فيه أحب إلى العالم من الذهبة الحمراء

Oh Allah, do not return it. A time will soon come upon people when death will be more beloved to the world than red gold

أهلكه الشح، وبئست البطانة، أو بطانة السوء ، قال: قلنا له: ألا تخرج فنخرج معك؟ فقال: لأن أزاول جبلا راسيا أهون علي من أن أزاول ملكا مؤجلا

Scarcity has destroyed him, and I am miserable with a bad environment, because it is easier for me to pursue an upright mountain than to pursue a deferred kingdom.

تكون فتنة النائم فيها خير من المضطجع، والمضطجع فيها خير من القاعد، والقاعد فيها خير من القائم، والقائم خير من الماشي، والماشي خير من الراكب، والراكب خير من المجري، قتلاها كلها في النار قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، ومتى ذلك؟ قال: أيام الهرج قال: قلت: ومتى أيام الهرج؟ قال: حين لا يأمن الرجل جليسه قال: قلت: فبم تأمرني إن أدركت ذلك؟ قال: اكفف نفسك ويدك، وادخل دارك قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، أرأيت إن دخل علي داري؟ قال: فادخل بيتك قال: قلت: إن دخل علي بيتي؟ قال: فادخل مسجدك، ثم اصنع هكذا ثم قبض بيمينه على الكوع، " وقل: ربي الله، حتى تقتل على ذلك

The tribulation of the sleeper will be better than the one who is lying down, and the one who is lying down will be better than the one who is sitting, and the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, and the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking, and the one who is walking is better than the one who is riding, and the one who is riding is better than the one who is running. They will all be killed in Hell. He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, and when will that be? He said: The days of Harj. He said: I said: When are the days of Harj? He said: When a man does not trust his companion. He said: I said: What do you order me to do if I realize that? He said: Restrain yourself and your hand, and enter your house. He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if he enters my house? He said: Then enter your house. He said: I said: If he enters my house? He said: Then enter your mosque, then do like this, then he held the elbow with his right hand, and say: My Lord is Allah, until you are killed for that.

إياكم والفتن، لا يشخص لها أحد، فوالله ما شخص لها أحد إلا نسفته كما ينسف السيل، إنها تشتبه مقبلة حتى يقول الجاهل: هذا يشبه، وتبين مدبرة، فإذا رأيتموها فاجتمعوا في بيوتكم، وكسروا سيوفكم، وقطعوا أوتاركم

Beware of temptations, no one detects them, for by Allah, no one detects them except that they destroy him as a flood destroys them. They are suspected of coming until the ignorant person says: This is similar, and they appear to be approaching, so if you see them, gather in your homes, break your swords, and cut your bowstrings.

ويل للعرب من شر قد اقترب، قد أفلح من كف يده

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (ﷺ) as saying: Woe to Arabs because of evil which has drawn near! He will escape who restrains his hand

إني لأعلم فتنة يوشك أن تكون التي قبلها معها كنفجة أرنب، وإني لأعلم المخرج منها ، قالوا: وما المخرج منها؟ قال: أن أمسك يدي حتى يجيء من يقتلني

I know of a trial that is about to be like the one before it, like a rabbit's blow, and I know the way out of it is to hold my hand until someone comes to kill me.

فئتان من المسلمين ما أبالي في أيتهما عرفتك، قتلاهما قتلى جاهلية

There are two groups of Muslims, I don't care which one I recognized you, they were killed by ignorance

إن الفتنة إذا أقبلت شبهت، وإذا أدبرت أسفرت، وإن الفتنة تلقح بالنجوى، وتنتج بالشكوى، فلا تثيروا الفتنة إذا حميت، ولا تعرضوا لها إذا عرضت، إن الفتنة راتعة في بلاد الله، تطأ في خطامها، لا يحل لأحد من البرية أن يوقظها حتى يأذن الله تعالى لها، الويل لمن أخذ بخطامها، ثم الويل له

When temptation approaches, it becomes suspicious, and when it returns, it spreads. And temptation is fertilized by contentions and produced by complaints, so do not stir up temptation when it is heated, and do not expose yourself to it when it appears. Indeed, temptation is lurking in Allah’s lands. It sets in its snouts. It is not permissible for anyone from the wilderness to awaken it until Allah Almighty permits it. Woe to whoever takes its snouts, then woe to him.

إن الفتنة إذا أقبلت شبهت، وإذا أدبرت أسفرت

When temptation approaches, it becomes suspicious, and when it turns away, it becomes apparent

سل السيف ، قيل: فما إدبارها؟ قال: غمد السيف

Unsheath the sword

تدخل بيتك، ثم تغلق عليك بابك، فمن جاءك فقل هكذا فقال سفيان بيده، فاكتتف وقل: بؤ بإثمي وإثمك

You enter your house, then you close your door. Whoever comes to you, say thus, will be guilty of my iniquity and your iniquity
