The Warning of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to His Ummah Against Being Deceived by the Powers and Tribulation Accompanied by the Dajjal

The Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah the Exalted be pleased with him)

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah and Makkah al-Mukarramah are Guarded by the Angels by the Command of Allah

Ahmad said: Shurayh narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn al-'Ala' al-Thaqafi, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Al-Madinah and Makkah are surrounded by angels; at each of their mountain passes there are angels. Neither the Dajjal nor the plague shall enter them."

This hadith is very strange (gharib). The mention of Makkah in this narration is not preserved (mahfuz), nor is the mention of the plague; and Allah the Exalted knows best. As for this al-'Ala' al-Thaqafi, if he is an addition (in the chain), that would be more plausible.
