From the Signs of the Hour: Entrusting Matters to Those Unqualified for Them

The First to Be Clothed on the Day of Resurrection Is Ibrahim, the Intimate Friend of Allah (peace be upon him)

"...from your hadith: 'Will men and women be gathered barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised, looking at one another?' He struck her shoulder and said: 'O daughter of Abu Quhafah! On that Day, people will be far too occupied to look. They will cast their gazes upward, standing suspended, neither eating nor drinking, staring with their eyes fixed toward the sky for forty years. Among them are those whose sweat reaches their feet, those whose sweat reaches their shins, those whose sweat reaches their bellies, and those bridled by sweat from the sheer length of standing. Then, after that, Allah will show mercy to His servants. Allah will command the proximate angels, and they will bear His Throne from the heavens down to the earth, until His Throne is placed upon a white land upon which no blood has ever been shed and no sin has ever been committed, as if it were white silver. Then the angels will stand surrounding the Throne from all around, and that is the first day an eye will gaze upon Allah. Then He commands a caller who calls out in a voice heard by both worlds of jinn and mankind: Where is so-and-so, son of so-and-so, son of so-and-so? The people will crane their necks toward that voice, and that caller steps out from the gathering. Allah introduces him to the people, and then it is said: His good deeds come forth with him. Allah makes those in the gathering recognize those good deeds. Then when he stands before the Lord of the worlds, it is said: Where are the claimants of grievances? They answer as one man. It is said to each of them: Did you wrong so-and-so in such and such a manner? He replies: Yes, my Lord. That is the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do. Thus the good deeds of the wrongdoer are taken and given to the one he wronged. On that Day there will be neither dinar nor dirham; rather, it is only taking from good deeds and transferring evil deeds. The claimants of grievances will continue taking their due from the wrongdoer's good deeds until not a single good deed remains for him. Then those who remain and have not received anything will rise and say: Why is it that others received their due while we were withheld? It will be said to them: Do not be hasty. Then their sins will be taken and cast upon him, until no one wronged by him has an unsettled grievance remaining. Allah makes all the people of the gathering aware of that. When the reckoning of the wrongdoer is concluded, it is said: Return to your mother, the Abyss (al-Hawiyah), for there is no injustice today; indeed, Allah is swift in reckoning. On that Day, there will not remain an angel, a sent prophet, a truthful one (siddiq), or a martyr, except that seeing the severity of the reckoning, he will believe that he will not be saved, except those whom Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, protects.'"

This hadith is gharib (unfamiliar) through this route, though parts of it have supporting witnesses (shawahid) in the Sahih collections, as will be explained shortly, if Allah wills, and in Him is trust, and upon Him is reliance.
