Hadith Concerning the Proximity of the Day of Resurrection in Comparison to Past Eras

The Hafiz Abu al-Qasim al-Tabarani narrated from the hadith of 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi and Wahb ibn Kaysan, from Ibn 'Umar,

from the Prophet (ﷺ), something similar to that. All of this indicates that what remains compared to what has passed is like a negligible thing, yet none knows the exact extent of what remains except Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. There has not come regarding it any specific determination with an authentic chain from the Infallible (ﷺ) upon which one could rely and thereby know the proportion of what remains relative to it; rather, it is merely very little compared to what has elapsed. Specifying the exact time of the Hour has not been established by any authentic hadith; instead, the verses and hadiths indicate that knowledge of it is among that which Allah, the Glorified and Exalted, has kept exclusively to Himself, without revealing it to anyone among His creation, as will be elucidated at the beginning of the forthcoming part after this, if Allah the Exalted wills, and in Him is trust and upon Him is reliance.
